YALTA. GOLD GRYFFIN-2014
From the 30th of June to the 6th of July the International contest of wines and spirits “Yalta. Golden Gryffin-2014” was held in the National Institute for Vine and Wine “Magarach” in Crimea. The contest included participants from wine-making enterprises of European and Asian countries – about fifty companies presented over 200 samples of their products to the board – still grape and fruit wines, sparkling wines, cognac, brandy and other strong beverages. The beverages of the Tiraspol Winery & Distillery “KVINT” have been awarded with gold medals. Ordinary dry white wine “Sauvignon” (vintage 2013) surprised the jury panel with a well-pronounced aroma with bright hints of cassis and passion fruit, enriched by notes of ripe gooseberry and piquant nuances of bell pepper. The highest evaluation and a gold medal was given by experts to the vintage dry red wine “Cabernet Sauvignon – Merlot” of Grand Reserve category (aged in oak barriques for 3 years) made by blending process from grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot (vintage 2011), grown on specially allocated terroirs of our winery.
